The Town of Whitby, located in the Durham region, is known as “Durham’s Business Centre.” With over 100,000 current residents, Whitby has experienced rapid population growth over the past decade, and shows no signs of stopping. Boasting a beautiful natural harbour on Lake Ontario, one of the most famous characteristics of this town is the white lighthouse that can be seen on the pier. This lighthouse is also said to be one of the reasons the name Whitby (“White Village”) was chosen.
